Minnesotan by birth, Army Brat from age 10 on. I’m a graduate of St. Olaf College in Minnesota, where I studied English, with strong doses of Western civilization and creative writing. I’ve lived in the Chicago area since 2004. 

When I’m not writing, you can find me working as a staff member at Tallgrass Sudbury School, hanging out with my cats, and, of course, reading. I read a lot of contemporary young adult  fiction, but I also like to read sci fi, historical fiction, educational theory, and academic books about children’s and YA literature.
