I also write contemporary young adult books–stories about teens that are firmly rooted in real life. My fiction tends towards the literary, with a strong sense of setting and character. Themes I keep returning to are loss, grief, good-byes, and the struggles of figuring out what you want to do with your life. You might guess from that that my books are on the serious side, and they are, but they usually have a strong vein of humor, too.
